Good Morning My Friends,
Mabel was a naughty girl and stayed out all last night. I went to bed quite early last night (lack of sleep the night before and a long day with Iris made me very, very tired) and I told Fletch she was outside. But, she never showed up before he went to bed. Luckily she was by the patio door this morning when I went downstairs. When I opened the door to let her in, I noticed two deer and a little spotted fawn in our backyard. The adult deer must be teaching the youngster to be safe or cautious because when I opened the door, one of them chased the little fawn down a trail into our woods. I don't appreciate them eating my plants, but I do love seeing them around.
Here we are with the first Tiny Needle Tuesday of June and I have a new project! Keeping with the Tiny theme, my start on this (rather big) piece is rather tiny.
The chart I have chosen has been in my stash for eons! It is And All Was For An Appil from The Scarlet Letter. I am using 36 count Antique White Edinburgh Linen and using DMC floss. I started out with two strands of floss, but it just looked too thick, so a single strand of floss over two linen threads. The finished piece will be roughly 17.2" wide and 13.88" high.
Another Adam & Eve sampler which I seem drawn to. I've stitched so many and just love doing them.
The start pictured is the upper left hand corner of the chart (one of the "angry" looking clouds). Like PPL (A Parrot, A Leopard, A Lion) that I stitched years ago, each motif is outlined in black and then filled in with color. A lot of stitching ahead of me! LOL
Today promises to be another gorgeous day here in Eastern PA. The temps are steadily rising all week and Fletch told me that Thursday is now forecast to hit 90! All last week I was in sweatshirts and sweaters. Now it appears I will be sweating.
What a fun new project you've picked! I can't wait to watch this one take shape. I'm glad Mabel was smart enough not to disappear for longer than the night. Please tell her she's a good girl and needs to stay close to home!
ReplyDeleteI took a peek at your new project and WOW! I'm always anxious to see your new designs and it did not disappoint. That's going to be so much fun to watch progress.
ReplyDeleteNaughty Mabel. I bet you didn't sleep well last night from the worry. Our inside/outside kitty does that to us every once in a while and I can never shut my eyes until she's in.
I was glad to read that Mabel showed up this morning. She really shouldn't scare us like that. Your new project is really something! I love the angry clouds, the expressions on Adam & Eve's faces, and the little cat in the corner. I'm going to look forward to seeing this one for plenty of Tuesdays!
ReplyDeleteI get very frustrated when Lena pulls an all-nighter! Your new cross stitch sounds like another amazing piece!
ReplyDeleteOooooo! That is going to be a beautiful sampler, Vera. And it looks quite fun to stitch. And I am so glad to hear the Mabel returned safely this morning. I do worry about her . . .
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a fun one to stitch!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a great sampler. Naughty Mabel. I would have been afraid of leaving her out all night but I know she's an independent soul.
ReplyDeleteCat's do what they want to, when they want to.
Blessings,
Betsy
What an interesting piece! I can't wait to see it grow. And you know my heart stops for a second when Mable goes out all night.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are off on another sampler. I'm sure it will be very pretty. That Mabel. She does have a mind of her own.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning sampler that will be Vera! I will be excited to watch it progress! And Mabel, I am so glad you were home this morning! Whew! Yeah, we are heating up here too... looks like my winter coat will finally be put away for the season!
