Tiny Needle Tuesday 5/13/25

 Hello All,

Another gorgeous day yesterday.  Now it looks like rain starting today and through Friday!  Today I am going over to help with Iris a little earlier than usual.  Colin has an electrician coming to the house to install wiring for a ceiling fixture in Iris' room so they can have an overhead light and ceiling fan for her.  That girl did not really want to nap yesterday...here's hoping today will be a little different!

Once again I managed to carve out some stitching time on Sunday in between loads of laundry.  And here is the result:

Sorry for the less than ideal lighting, but you can see the lettering is all completed now.  And, of course, more brown was added.  Still quite a bit to fill in, but I'm getting there!

Wishing you all a lovely Tuesday.

  1. When Molly was little (not as little as Iris) and didn't want to nap, I'd tell her that when she got older she'd wish she could nap every day. The little ones always take it for granted that they can! The stitching is looking good -- you're in the home stretch now!

  2. Ah, yes... I remember those days of "not napping" well. By the time Sam came along, I had achieved my full "go with the flow" mom award. But no naps do make for long days! Your stitching is coming along, I like the circle of kindness begets... that is exactly how it should work!

  3. When my kids didn't nap they would get so tired they would nearly fall asleep in their dinner. Both of them nap now, but I wish they had been better at it when they were babies. Kindness looks good no matter what the lighting is!

  4. That is such a beautiful piece! All those fill stitches give me goosebumps but it's really worth the trouble. I love it.
My little baby Grand is not napping in the daytime anymore either unless he's in the car. Daughter's been putting him in the car seat and taking him outside on the porch where he goes right to sleep...lol.

  5. I think your cross-stitch piece is beautiful. If only the world would listen. They are trying to get "Baby J" to stop napping during the day, because she soon will begin all day school, yes at 3 years old, and there are no naps allowed. She's such a happy girl but is having meltdowns by dinnertime now. I just don't understand it. She obviously still needs naps but the school system says "no". It's crazy.
I'm so glad you get to see Iris so often. You are blessed.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. I love to stitch lettering because it goes fast in my head, I don't know if it really goes fast. Lovely progress!
