TGIF

 Good Morning!

Whew!  It is foggy outside.  And mild (like 50 degrees).

The view out back from our patio - my archery target just barely visible.  Gosh, I have not done any archery in ages...first it was too cold...then snowy...now my back.  Hopefully soon.

I kind of like a foggy morning.  It is peaceful, calming and soothing.  Sort of like reading poetry by Mary Oliver before bed (which I did last night).

My MRI was pretty quick, and not quite as noisy as I had remembered (thankfully).  I arrived early not knowing what traffic would be like and they took me in early.  I was home by 9 a.m.!!  Not sure when I will hear the results, but hopefully soon.

The balance of the day was spent with work stuff.  Today I was scheduled for 3 conference calls.  fortunately the last one was cancelled late yesterday.  So, I've got a call at 8:30 and then another one at 10.  I expect both of them to be pretty quick and then my weekend can begin.

I have no Friday Feline picture for this morning.  I let Mabel out around 4 a.m. and this was the sight on my patio when I came downstairs.

The voles are usually dead on their sides, but this poor one has his head and tail up in the air.  No sign of Mabel yet, but she is earning her keep (which is a good thing as she eats more than any cat we have ever had!!).

Rain is in the forecast again for tomorrow.  Dee and I have plans to meet up for coffee, knitting and chatting.  The rain should not stop us.  We will be cozy inside.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend - enjoy!!

  1. Lucky you . . . to have a special delivery vole on your patio! :-)
Enjoy your weekend, Vera. It looks like a wet one here, too. . .

  2. Mabel... taking care of her humans! What a good girl! I had a Hawk Adventure yesterday... I was out with Sherman and a hawk swooped in, got a mourning dove and the other dove on the wire flew directly into the side of my head... yikes! Live Nature in my back yard and me without my camera!

  3. I have to say that I am not at all envious of the "gifts" Mabel leaves you, but I suppose dead rodents are preferable to live ones!

It is mild here, too, and it finally smells like spring out there -- I saw a lot of flowers blooming or about ready to yesterday! Enjoy your coffee date and have a lovely weekend!

  4. Please give Mabel a GPS and some travelling food and send her my way. Voles and moles are a constant threat to our backyard pond. They try to chew through the liner that constructs the waterfall. She'd be busy and we'd keep her well-fed.

I'm so glad you're getting together with Dee again and that snow is out of our forecasts. Fingers crossed that the worst is over.

  6. It's lovely to get gifts from those who love you, even if those gifts happen to be dead voles! I hope you get the rest of those conference calls out of the way quickly and get to your weekend. have fun with Dee!

  7. A weekend vist with Dee sounds wonderful.
We could sure use Mabel and her vole hunting skills. At the end of last summer they took over our yard and nothing we did helped. We didn't have them in Spokane so this is a new issue for us to deal with. Their tunnels are quite dangerous and you sink into the ground when you walk and can turn an ankle.
Now, get those calls done and one with the weekend!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. After all the fog warnings last night I got up expecting to see some. It guess it all blew north because it was a beautiful sunny morning here on the Chesapeake. I did see some awesome photos of downtown DC in the fog this morning.

  10. It’s great when you can get in and out quickly for medical tests. I usually arrive 15 minutes early and frequently get and out swiftly. Today is laundry day at my house and a bit of vacuuming, too.

  12. I also like a foggy morning. Seems like with the dry conditions they have been few and far between so I will enjoy yours.
