Unraveled Wednesday - July 12th

Hello All,

The heat and humidity has returned with a vengeance to the Philadelphia area.  But, we are mid-week which is nice.  I have plans to meet a friend for dinner Friday and (in my mind) I have a list of things I'd like to get done this weekend.  We'll see....

Meanwhile, some modest progress has been made both on the knitting and stitching fronts.  First up, Square #2 on my cozy blanket.  Certainly a long-term project if there ever was one!

Some stitching was made on the dividing band on the sampler...again, a long ways to go till the finish!

I've started South of Broad by Pat Conroy and am enjoying it.  What a bunch of dysfunctional characters!!

That's all I've got today.  Hope everyone's week is going well.

  1. The sampler is progressing nicely and looks great. Do you frame the samplers or make them into pillows, etc.?

Great start on the mitered square blanket.

  3. I think Confucius said something about a blanket of a thousand squares begins with two, and they look great. You may have a ways to go on your projects, but you are certainly making progress. And I'm glad you are reading something enjoyable!

  4. Still hot and humid here too, but I guess that's to be expected in Florida!!!!

Cozy Memories may be a long-term project, but they sure are fun!

  6. As Im reading A year of living Bibically the adam and eve stitching is fun for me
Hot humid and the rain keeps coming down. Some roads are closed and this means Zach and I may have to change our shopping plans. I want to take him to the MExican Grocer in town, a used bookstore and the garden center. We'll see

  7. Hot and humid here too - and for some reason our property managers decided it would be a good idea to schedule a contractor to do a mass window cleaning... and they asked all the tenants to remove their window a/c units (no central air here), remove all their screens and keep the windows closed for minimum of three days... needless to say, us tenants gave property management an earful.

  9. Hot, humid, thunderstorms, and hideous here in NEO. Ugh. But now, I am only Grateful not to be Wanderingcatstudio! What a terrible request during July!

Not much knitting being done here--on either of two unfinished projects. You are way ahead of me there.

  12. In this heat, staying still and stitching, knitting and reading are perfect antidotes. Carry on! The sampler is coming along quite nicely.
    Cheers~
